Class Files

Class Files gives every section its own file vault. Teachers upload study materials — notes, worksheets, presentations, recordings — organize them into folders, and choose per file whether students can see it. Students get a clean, read-only view of everything shared with their class, right in their portal.

  1. Open your section: Sidebar → Sections → pick the class → Files tab.

  2. Click Upload and pick one or more files (up to 100 MB each), or New folder to organize first — folders nest as deep as you like.

  3. Each file has a visibility pill in the Students column: Shared (visible to students) or Hidden (staff only). New uploads start as Shared — click the pill to flip it.

  4. Students open Sidebar → My Learning → Class Files and see only what’s shared with their class, ready to download.

RoleWhereWhat’s there
Teacher / Class teacherSections → your sectionFiles tabFull manager view: upload, folders, rename, delete, visibility toggles — for sections you teach
Owner / ManagerSections → any sectionFiles tabSame manager view, across every section in the school
StudentSidebar → My Learning → Class FilesRead-only browser of the materials shared with their class — folders, files, download buttons

  • Create folders and subfolders (New folder → e.g. “Chapter 3 — Worksheets”), and navigate with the breadcrumb that starts at Files.
  • Rename a folder anytime from its row actions.
  • Deleting a folder removes the folder, its subfolders, and every file inside — permanently. The confirmation dialog spells this out before anything happens.

Visibility is per file, not per folder:

PillMeaning
SharedStudents of this section can see and download the file
HiddenStaff only — invisible to students until you share it

New uploads start Shared. Prepping materials in advance? Upload, click the pill to Hidden, and flip it back when the lesson arrives. Students never see hidden files anywhere — not in folders, not in counts, and direct downloads of hidden files are refused server-side.

LimitValue
Max file size100 MB per file

Files are stored in Premeena’s cloud storage and downloaded through short-lived secure links — students and staff always get the file directly, with no account keys to manage.

Not today — Class Files is a teacher ↔ student surface. Anything parents need should go out via announcements or homework attachments.

No. Students are strictly read-only here. For work students hand in, use Homework & Assignments — that’s the submission pipeline.

I deleted a file by accident. Can I get it back?

Section titled “I deleted a file by accident. Can I get it back?”

No — deletes are permanent and remove the file from storage. Re-upload the file if you still have the original.
