Why we're building this
Walk into most schools and you'll find the same quiet contradiction: classrooms full of technology conversations, and a back office running on paper registers, receipt books, and a heroic spreadsheet named FINAL_v7. It isn't for lack of trying. School ERP software has existed for decades — but it's typically expensive, bloated with modules nobody asked for, and sold through demos and procurement cycles that small schools simply don't have the time or budget for.
Premeena — the school management platform on this site — is our answer. It's a free, fast, web-based system that covers what schools actually do every day: enroll students, take attendance, build timetables, run assessments and report cards, collect fees, pay staff, and keep parents in the loop. What the platform covers today
The platform is organized around the real jobs of a school office, each covered in depth on its own page:
- Admissions & enrollment — structured intake with configurable document requirements, guardians, CSV import, and ID cards.
- Attendance — section-wise marking, late arrivals, gate passes, and staff attendance that feeds payroll.
- Timetables — clash-aware scheduling on top of sections and timetable groups.
- Assessments & report cards — configurable grading scales and whole-class generation.
- Fees & invoicing — billing, collections, and balances parents can see.
- HR & payroll, messaging, homework, library, documents, announcements — the connective tissue of daily school life, all on the same student and staff records.
How we build
Security first, because it's not our data. Each school's workspace is isolated in a multi-tenant architecture. Access is controlled by position-based permissions, passwords are bcrypt-hashed, traffic is HTTPS end to end, and every create, update, and delete lands in a complete audit trail.
With schools, not just for them. The roadmap is driven by what real schools hit in real terms — which is why the platform ships with a built-in feedback and bug-reporting system with two-way communication. When something's wrong, you tell us inside the product, and you can watch the fix land.
Boring where it counts. School administration rewards predictability. We'd rather ship a fee ledger your accountant trusts than a dashboard that demos well and reconciles badly.
